APPEARANCE! Usually scruffy but otherwise well groomed. Prefers t-shirts and jeans unless he's working then it's business suits and ties. Has a very extensive collection of tattoos. Magical tattoos are: defensive ward in the shape of a flower on his right shoulder, a protective ward in the shape of a tiger on his right forearm, a bird on his chest that can literally leave Dean's skin and soar above the city with Dean's consciousness in it. The rest of his tattoos are purely decorative.
PERSONALITY! Essentially a human puppy. He likes people. He likes making them happy. Very proud of his looks and his magical talent. Likes to joke and help people. Piss of off and he tends to hold a grudge. Loyal lover, big romantic and looking for The One. Super serious about his business and works very hard at it.
BIOGRAPHY! Born in LA, Dean grew up in a lower-middle class family in a neighborhood that frequently dealt with gang violence and domestic problems. Dean played soccer with a few of the neighborhood kids and avoided the gangs like the plague. He mostly spent his time at home with his little sister as both his parents worked long hours. He figured out at a young age that he was gay and kept it a well guarded secret until he was 15 when he came out to his parents. They were not happy with him and either ignored him all together or blamed him for everything wrong in their lives. His magic gave him something to cling to when his life was falling apart around him. He was trained by another sorcerer and lived with him for most of his senior year of high school. When he turned 18 Dean left LA with all the money he had and drove cross country to New York City where he started his life over. While born and raised in LA he rarely goes there and considers New York the only home he's ever had. Those first years in New York were hard on Dean. He had to save as much as possible and was frequently homeless but being a sorcerer he survived on the streets rather well and could usually find another friendly sorcerer to take him in. He spent many years working odd jobs and saving up, including a few brief porn vids that he ultimately found embarrassing and unsatisfying. He much preferred to work in garages, on cars and motorcycles. A near constant night owl, Dean went out all the time. He loves the clubs, but his favorites are the underground magical clubs. He was somewhat infamous in many of them for taking over the light show part and music if they weren't warded properly from his magic. Sometimes people were okay with it, sometimes he got kicked out. Finally, Dean decided to start saving up for a club of his own. Dean spent a lot of time hanging out with other sorcerers. He met his best friend, Will, just by hanging out in a magical tattoo parlor. They taught him tricks for understanding the magic of New York City, which was nothing like the magic of LA. When Will took over the tattoo shop Dean became somewhat of a permanent fixture. He still hangs out there and Will was the one who did all of Dean's tattoos. Dean's talents do not really lie with ink and wards. His magic is heavily drawn from the neon and electrical forces found in cities, though he had a hand in designing and contributing magical energy to each magical tattoo he has. It took years and very careful planning but eventually Dean had saved enough and had enough investors through his connections in the magical community to open his magical night club called Oddfellows. Dean is there every single night the club is open, whether in his office dealing with the business side of things or out mingling with the guests he doesn't miss a night of work unless he absolutely has to. The club caters very heavily to the magical community to the point of keeping normal people out unless they know someone magical or come with someone magical. The club is considered neutral ground and Dean does not allow any magical turf wars inside. He will ban anyone who causes trouble and has a tight security team to deal with any problems that arise though he very frequently deals with it himself. All and all, he's come a long way from the jaded, bitter teenager he was in LA. He is happy, confident and has mellowed considerably. He's loyal to his friends, loving to just about everyone he meets and is more inclined to laugh and smile. He loves to have a good time and make new friends. His love life is fleeting but he falls hard and fast which usually ends badly for him but he is still searching for true love. One day he wants a family.
